Product Description With the introduction of the LE700 Series, Sharp combines its legendary AQUOS LCD panel technology with a newly developed, proprietary Full Array LED backlight system to create picture quality that is second to none. The LE700 Series again illustrates Sharp's LCD technology leadership while also demonstrating its LED engineering advantages. Sharp's UltraBrilliant LED system illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness and contrast levels and enables significant environmental benefits such as longer life expectancy, no heavy metals and lower power consumption. At the same time, the XGen LCD Panel utilizes an ingeniously devised pixel design that permits more light to pass through even while minimizing light leakage, with the result being the deepest black levels that AQUOS has ever achieved. Overall, the LE700 Series shows that with Sharp, it's not just LED... it's AQUOS LED.

Titanbound February 17, 2010 JACOB MOORE Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2KM3G0IUGXTDH I previously owned the xbr4 and 6 and,sad to say this tv is my favorite. You may not agree with it because of its presets(default picture settings),but with pro calibration and a dice of your own,you will be impressed. Some and many even pros say the 120hrt isnt present, but the thing is it is.I spent time calibrating my set for best picture possible and finding differences between motionflow and motion enhanced.Motionflow has a more lively on set feel with very obvious artifacts when high but, this is why Sharp has pulled me in.Motion enhanced creates the lively blend, you see if you have 20/20 vision like myself you will notice the effect to dramatically make you feel onset but also watching a movie, pure greatness.Im rating 24p 48/50 movies and 60p 100/120 games based on my gtx 280 and blu ray Playback,so imagine the effects of pure video plus nvidia control panal settings of 100% sharpness and 100% noise reduction with cuda. The tv may fall short if you only watch dtv but hdtv also shines.I also had heat issues before with my xbr brands, but this set barely pumps heat and is very light;no 1 eco friendly set in the world.Im planning on buying another set.Believe me the price is a steal, cant wait to play god of war 3 bottom line this is a must buy for hardcore gamers and day to day movie watchers 5 star general.
Sharp Aquos LC40LE700UN HDTV January 30, 2010 Timothy Frohlick 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This TV set is truly marvelous. The picture is accurate and sharp and the digital/analog tuner is superb. I have my set hooked to a Dishnetwork DVR receiver using the supervideo cable and a twenty-four year old Carver Magnetic Field receiver. It is practically the same as being in a movie theater where I control the picture and the sound. Instead of popcorn we have caviar, fine cheddar and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Sharp LED system gives results superior to sets costing $10,000.00 USD ten years ago. Good things come to those who wait. This TV schmecks.
Tomorrow I will buy a high quality HDMI cable to connect to my Sony DVD/CD player. I better not show this to my neighbor across the street. He paid $12,000.00 for his plasma TV 8 years ago. My set weighs 30 pounds and eats 90 watts and his weighs 200 pounds and eats 500 watts. Life is not fair.....ha,ha,ha!

Great TV for the price! January 28, 2010 Jeremy Wilson (Beaumont, TX) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After purchasing a Sharp Aquos 42" LCD last year, and spending quite a bit of time doing research to find that particular set, I found myself wanting a smaller HDTV that I could easily put in my car and take with me when I travel to and from my work location. I wasn't really looking for an LED, just wanting to find something cheap with a decent picture. Then I saw this set from Sharp, and with the price, it seemed too good to pass up. Compared to my 42" Aquos LCD I would say that this one is really nice, but I still feel like my 42" is better. One of the top reasons is the sound quality on this set doesn't seem up to par. I keep my volume at 19 when viewing, but there is a noticeable difference between this one and my other set. If you're going to hook it up to a home theater system, I suppose this wouldn't really matter. Of the 4 HDMI inputs, I have been unable to get HDMI Input #5 to work. It has a ton of features so you can tweak to perfection. The auto-contrast function seemed to make the picture too dark, but once turning it off, the picture is just what I want. I love the remote, the button layout is about as close to perfect for me, very intuitive - the backlighting on the remote could be improved. One function I really like about this set, is that its Menu options are Input specific (i.e. if I am using the HDMI port, it doesn't show Channel/Cable options, just options that relate to the HDMI). The set is very light, easy to move. All in all, I really like this LED TV, and for the low price - I love it. Another great product from Sharp.
Beautiful, Affordable Big Screen-This is a steal! January 15, 2010 Joshua M. Tucker 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I cant say enough about how great this tv is. The new ultra brilliant color display with LED backlighting is superb and ive never seen a more clear cut, sharp, clear tv before. The color is amazing, the blacks are so deep but the rest of the color so vibrant and clear. The sound quality is great too. I mainly got this tv to watch blue ray movies and play my playstation 3 in HDMI and the picture quality in unmatched. I previously had a 32' Vizio LCD and this tv blows it out of the water. I highly recommend this tv to any gamer or anyone who loves to watch very action packed, graphic movies. This was a steal!
Great TV for the price. January 13, 2010 H. Zalonis (So Cal) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My first impression of this TV was that it looked like a very large computer monitor. It isn't a looker that's for sure, but once you get past that it is a very good TV. It had no dead pixels and all of the functions are easy to use and work as advertised. I also have an older Samsung 40" LCD and this one beats it in image quality by a rather large margin. The set did require some tweaking to improve the picture quality, but was acceptable out of the box.
One caveat is that you can't use the analog PC input at the display's native 1920x1080 resolution, it's quite easy to work around with a DVI to HDMI adapter cable. Not many computers use the old VGA ports these days and I bet analog will not be supported at all on TVs in the near future.
